Hafa Adai Annie, when I was a little girl back in the day (lol) whenever we attended a rosary, they would serve these cookies with frosting on them. Do you have a recipe close to this?

    • Well, that could be anything, really. The cookies I remember being served at rosaries are rosketti (which I have a recipe for). I don’t recall any one cookie in particular with frosting that was served at rosaries.

When I was a little girl our neighbor, Ting Garrido of Mongmong. would come to our house to bake cookies.
I remember she used Carnation milk. They were so good and I have never found the recipe. Any ideas?

  3. my daughter used your rosketti receipe yesterday for the first time and the cookies were perfect. I remember my mom making those alot and having some homemade was great. Thank you !!

I’m so glad I found this page! I just recently moved from Guam to California and I’m completely home sick ): I miss Chamorro food, ESPECIALLY my Grandma’s rosketti 🙂

    • Hafa Adai, Avi! I’m glad you stumbled upon my site! I hope you try some of my recipes; it might help ease your homesickness a bit. 🙂 Give my Rosketti recipe a try and let know how it turned out for you.

      Take care,
      Annie

Annie, do I need to use “butter” or can I use margarine?

    • You can use either butter or margarine, but I prefer using unsalted butter in my baked goods. Be careful with some salted margarines, however. If my recipe calls for salt, check the ingredient list in the margarine you use to see if it contains salt. If it does, then omit the salt in the recipe.
