Homemade Blackened Seasoning
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 4 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (more or less, to taste)
Directions:
- Mix all the ingredients together. Store in a resealable plastic container or jar. This mixture keeps for several weeks.
- Coat your fish or chicken with a light coat of olive oil or melted butter. Generously coat with the Blackened Seasoning mixture. Grill or broil and ENJOY!
- Omit the cayenne pepper if you don’t want your blackened meat or fish too spicy.
